Lost Property worth OVER $500
LOST: An item was accidentally misplaced or left behind somewhere
STOLEN: Someone removed the item from your lawful possession with the intent to steal
If your property was STOLEN, please submit a Theft report.
"Lost Property" reports are not actively investigated by the Toronto Police Service and are kept for records purposes only in order to reunite people with their property if recovered.
The Toronto Police Service will ONLY accept reports over the phone, for LOST items that:
- have an externally visible SERIAL NUMBER AND are worth MORE THAN $500,
- are dangerous to the public (IE: Pharmaceutical Samples),
- could be used to commit criminal offences (IE: Firearms) or,
- it is determined that there is a public interest in recording the details of the LOST item.
If you LOST property in a taxi cab, on the TTC or at a specific location, please contact the appropriate organization and check their "Lost and Found".
If you have LOST your CELLPHONE, please contact your service provider. The Toronto Police Service does NOT take reports for LOST cellphones.
If you have LOST your CANADIAN PASSPORT or SOCIAL INSURANCE CARD, contact Service Canada
If you LOST a PASSPORT from ANOTHER COUNTRY, please call 416-808-2222.
If you have LOST your DRIVER'S LICENSE, HEALTH CARD, LICENCE PLATE(S), ACCESSIBLE PARKING PERMITS, or other ONTARIO IDENTIFICATION, contact Service Ontario.
