Children’s Playground Games a success

Toronto Police Service Officers and Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) students collaborated with several groups in the eighth annual Kidsport Children’s Playground Games at West Humber Collegiate Institute.

The officers and youngsters took part in several sports activities, including tug-o-war, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, basketball before lunch was served with the assistance of YIPI students.

After the break, Toronto Police Services Board chair Alok Mukherjee, 23 Division Supt. Ron Taverner and Toronto District School Board Director of Education Dr. Chris Spence addressed the kids.

As part of the day-long activities, there were Court Services trucks, Emergency Task Force equipment and vehicles, a Marine Unit boat, police bikes, as well as Mounted Unit horses also on hand.
