Man, 22, faces five charges in Attempt Murder investigation,
Dufferin Street/Lawrence Avenue West area

On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at 1:30 a.m., police responded to the Dufferin Street/Lawrence Avenue West area for a stabbing.

It is alleged that:

- a patron was asked to leave the restaurant

- an altercation ensued, resulting in the the patron stabbing the restaurant staff member

The staff member, a 23-year-old man, was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Matthew Turner, 22, of Toronto, was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with:

1) Attempt Murder
2) Aggravated Assault
3) Carry Concealed Weapon
4) Weapons Dangerous
5) Threatening Death

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, 10 a.m.
