Two boys, 15 and 13, arrested in retail Robbery investigation,
Marlee Avenue and Roselawn Avenue area

On Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 8:57 p.m., police responded to a call for a retail robbery at a Mini Mart in the Marlee Avenue and Roselawn Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- three boys entered a convenience store with their identities concealed by balaclavas

- two boys went behind the counter and confronted the store clerk

- one boy physically controlled the clerk, while the other boy was displaying a knife

- they then robbed the store clerk of cash and cigarettes

- a third unidentified boy acted as a lookout

- all three boys fled

On Saturday, March 4, 2017, following a foot pursuit, a 15-year-old boy, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with

1) Robbery with an offensive weapon
2) Disguise with intent
3) Fail To Comply Recognizance
4) Possession of Property obtained by crime (under)

He was scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, 10 a.m.

On Tuesday, March 7, 2017, a 13-year-old boy was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Robbery with an offensive weapon
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (under)
4) Fail To Comply Recognizance

He is scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street, on Thursday March 9, 2017, 10 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing to identify the third culprit.

Neither boy can be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
