Ryan McFarlane, 38, charged in concerning incident

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an ongoing investigation.

On Monday, March 13, 2017, at 6:32 p.m., officers responded to a call for a suspicious incident at Parkdale Library, at 1303 Queen Street West

It is alleged that:

- a nine-year-old boy was in the library

- a man sat down beside the boy and passed the boy a handwritten note

- the man then, with the use of his phone, asked the boy several inappropriate questions

- the boy's father confronted the man

- the man ran out of the library

Ryan McFarlane, 38, of Toronto, has been arrested. He is charged with:

1) Fail to Comply with Probation

He appeared in court at Old City Hall, on Thursday, March 16, 2017, 10 am.
