Man, 22, faces nine charges in three gas-station robberies

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an investigation into three gas-station robberies.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, May 12, 2017, a man walked into a gas station in the Wilson Avenue/Jane Street area

- the man displayed a silver caulking gun, and robbed the attendant of pre-paid credit cards and money before fleeing

It is further alleged that:

- on Thursday, May 18, 2017, the same man walked back into the same gas station

- the man demanded the attendant open the cash register and activate the pre-paid credit cards he previously stole

- the attendant recognized the man from the previous robbery and complied with the demands

- the man then made several purchases at a nearby plaza

It is further alleged that:

- through investigation, the man's identity was determined and that he was responsible for another robbery

It is further alleged that:

- on Sunday, May 14, 2017, the man walked into a gas station in the Dixon Road/Martin Grove Road area

- the man made a demand for cash, gesturing that he was armed with a gun

- the man fled with money

On Tuesday, May 23, 2017, Khadr Mohamed, 22, of Etobicoke, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) three counts of Robbery
2) three counts of Use Imitation Firearm
3) Fraud under
4) Use Credit Card Data
5) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

He appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, courtroom 306.
