Man, 28, arrested in Sexual Assault Investigation,
Parliament Street and Mill Street area

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation.

On Friday, May 26, 2017, at approximately 5:20 p.m., police responded to a radio call in the Parliament Street and Mill Street area.

It is alleged that:

- an 18-year old woman was attacked and sexually assaulted by a man

- the woman was able to fight off her attacker and make her escape

- the man was arrested at the scene

Riaz Ijaz, 28, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Sexual Assault
2) Threatening Death

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Saturday, May 27, 2017.
