The Waterfront 10k Run will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Approximately 12,000 participants will assemble in the formation area at University Avenue and Dundas Street West, commencing at 6 a.m.
At 7:20 a.m., the run will start along the following route:
Start line: University Avenue, north of Queen Street West
Southbound University Avenue – Full Roadway
Southbound York Street – Full Roadway
Westbound Bremner Boulevard – Full Roadway
Southbound Rees Street – Full Roadway
Westbound Lake Shore Boulevard West to Bathurst Street – Westbound Lanes Only (At Fort York Blvd runners will transition to Westbound in the Eastbound lanes of Lake Shore Blvd. West - All lanes
Exception south side Eastbound CONED Access Lane from Colborne Lodge to Net Drive and from HMCS)
Westbound Lake Shore Boulevard West – All lanes
U-TURN At Palais Royale
Eastbound Lake Shore Boulevard West – Eastbound Lanes Only except south side coned access lane
Finish Line: Lake Shore Boulevard West, from Strachan Avenue to the east side of Newfoundland Road
Post-Race Area: CNE Grounds - Gore Lot
Motorists can expect delays in the area and should consider alternate methods of transportation.
Road closures (approximate times):
4:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.:
University Avenue northbound and southbound from Dundas Street West to Queen Street West (full road closure)
Armoury Street from University Avenue to Chestnut Street (full road closure)
Centre Avenue from 375 Centre Avenue to Armoury Street (full road closure)
5 a.m. to 11 a.m.:
Lake Shore Boulevard West Eastbound & Westbound from Bathurst Street to Parkside Drive (full road closure)
An access lane will be provided for businesses on the south side (local traffic only)
7 a.m. to 9 a.m.:
Lake Shore Boulevard West, westbound from York Street to Bathurst Street (westbound lanes road closure)
7 a.m. to 9 a.m.:
University Avenue from Queen Street to York Street (full road closure)
York Street from University Avenue to Bremner Boulevard (full road closure)
Bremner Boulevard from York Street to Navy Wharf (full road closure)
Rees Street from Bremner Boulevard to Lake Shore Boulevard West (full road closure)
TTC service delays:
501 Queen and 504 King
Streetcars will be assisted through gaps in the run when it is safe to do so.
Delays can be expected.
