Man wanted in Fraud investigation,
Varsity Road and Dundas Street West area,
Falsely identifying himself as police officer

The Toronto Police Service requests assistance locating a man wanted in a Fraud investigation.

On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at 1:26 p.m., officers responded to a call for a suspicious incident in the Varsity Road and Dundas Street West area.

It is reported that:

- an 87-year-old woman received a phone call from a woman who spoke in Polish

- the 87-year-old woman was advised that a relative had been injured and a police officer would come by to get money

- shortly afterwards, a man, identifying himself as a police officer, came to her house

- he was given a quantity of money

He is described as white, 20-25, tanned complexion, 5'6", short brown hair, thin build, wearing a black T-shirt and black cargo pants. He spoke in broken Polish.

Investigators wish to advise the community that police officers do not accept money from citizens.
