Mn, 40, facing seven charges in Threatening and Assault Investigation,

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of a Threatening and Assault investigation.

On Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at 12:50 p.m., officers responded to a call for a threatening at Toronto Police Headquarters at 40 College Street.

It is alleged that:

- a man entered police headquarters

- he brandished a knife

- he made threats directed at the officers while holding the knife

Hugh Carl Persad, 40, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1) Carry Concealed Weapon
2) Weapons Dangerous
3) two counts of Assaulting a Peace Officer While Threatening to Use a Weapon
4) two counts of Uttering Death Threats
5) Obstruct Peace Officer

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Friday, July 14, 2017, 10 a.m., room 102.
