Woman, 37, charged in Animal Cruelty investigation

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an Animal Cruelty investigation.
This investigation involved officers from the Toronto Police Service, the Ontario SPCA and the Toronto Transit Commission.
It is alleged that:
- on Friday, August 4, 2017, at approximately 4:20 p.m., a woman was involved in an assault on a small dog while on a TTC subway car in the St George station area
On Wednesday, August 9, 2017, Teresa Rutledge, 37, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Willfully Permit Pain and Suffering of an Animal
She is scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, 2 p.m., room 407.
