Man, 47, charged with assault on Parking Enforcement Officer,
Cottingham Street and Avenue Road area

The Toronto Police Service would like to update the public on an arrest in an Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 8:25 a.m., a Parking Enforcement Officer was issuing parking tickets in the Cottingham Street and Avenue Road area

- a man, 49, became verbally aggressive with the Parking Enforcement Officer after being asked to move his vehicle and refusing to do so

- the man then accelerated his vehicle at a high rate of speed, through a school zone, and swerved his vehicle in the direction of the Parking Enforcement officer

On Friday, September 8, 2017, Mark Hayman, 47, of Toronto, was arrested.

He is charged with:

1) Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
2) Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon
3) Driving while under Suspension

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, 2 p.m.
