On Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 11 a.m., in the media gallery at headquarters, the launch of Breastober and the Pink Epaulette Appeal will take place.
Breastober is a fundraising and awareness initiative at The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation to support the Breast Cancer Program at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
Deputy Chief Shawna Coxon will represent the Toronto Police Service. In addition to the Service supporting Breastober, TPS Court Officer Arthur Hanton created the Pink Epaulette Program to raise money by altering official uniforms to include pink epaulette slip-ons for the month of October. The TPS has raised nearly $80,000 from the program over the last two years.
There will also be representatives from Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto Fire Services, Toronto Community Housing, Paragon Security, and UHN Security.
The news conference will be available on TOC and will be live-streamed.
