The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of two arrests in an ongoing investigation into a series of thefts from vehicles, in the general areas of Koreatown and The Annex.
It is alleged that:
- during November 2017, there were several reports of vehicles being broken into, and several items removed from the vehicles, in and around Koreatown and The Annex
- as a result, 14 Division Major Crime Unit started an investigation
- on Monday, November 13, 2017, Thien Xuan Nguyen, 48, and Van Hung Le, 56, both of Toronto, were identified as the perpetrators of two of the incidents. The investigation into the other occurrences is ongoing.
Both men have been charged with:
1) Mischief Under
2) Theft Under
3) Fail to comply Probation
The Toronto Police Service is urging the public, specifically in the areas mentioned above, to always to leave their unattended vehicles locked. If items of value are stored in the vehicle, please ensure that they are out of sight. Please report any suspicious behaviour or persons possibly involved in similar activities to police.
