Man, 26, arrested for two sandwich shop robberies,
Faces eight charges

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of an arrest and charges laid for two retail robberies.

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 1:45 a.m., a man entered a sandwich shop near Queen Street West and Bathurst Street

- the man was displaying a large knife

- he demanded cash from the person working behind the counter

- he obtained cash and fled

It is further alleged that:

- on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 5:45 a.m., a man attended a sandwich shop in the Danforth Avenue and Coxwell Avenue area

- the man was armed with a large knife concealed under his winter jacket

- he approached the person working at the counter

- he pointed the knife at the store employee and demanded cash from the till

- the man obtained money and fled

- both robberies were investigated by Hold Up and the man was identified and arrested

On Thursday, November 23, 2017, Harvey Morris, 26, of Toronto, was charged with:

1) two counts of Robbery with Offensive Weapon
2) two counts of Weapons Dangerous
3) two counts of Carry Concealed Weapon
4) two counts of Fail to Comply Probation

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 9 a.m., room 505.
