On November 6, 2017, Alloura Wells, 27, was reported missing. It is believed Alloura was last seen in July 2017, in the downtown area. A news release seeking the public’s assistance was issued on November 8, 2017.

On August 5, 2017, police responded to a call for a body found in the area of Rosedale Valley Road. This person was not easily identified and police sought the assistance of the Centre of Forensic Sciences.

Because of the possible link between Alloura Wells and this investigation, police submitted further information to the Centre of Forensic Sciences, with the assistance of a family member.

On November 30, 2017, the Centre of Forensic Sciences confirmed that the body found on August 5, 2017 has been identified as Alloura Wells.

The case has now been transferred to 53 Division and the investigation into the cause of death continues.
