Fatal collision #60/2017,
College Street, east of Ossington Avenue

On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 11:39 a.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at College Street, east of Ossington Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a man, 45, was riding a bicycle westbound on College Street, approaching Ossington Avenue

- a man, 51, was driving a 2017 International commercial heavy truck westbound on College Street and was stopped for a red light

- for reasons not yet determined, as the cyclist approached the rear of the truck, he fell to the roadway and subsequently ended up under the right rear wheels of the truck

The cyclist received life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced.
