The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance locating a man wanted in an Attempt Murder investigation in the Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue West area.
It is alleged that:
- on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a man entered a hair salon at Jane Street and Marshlynn Avenue
- he approached another man who was seated in the salon, pulled out a knife, and stabbed the man multiple times
- despite the victim's attempts to escape the attack, the man continued swinging a knife at him until other patrons intervened
- the man then fled the hair salon, and was last seen running across Marshlynn Avenue, then southbound in an alleyway just east of Jane Street
The male suspect has been identified as Barrington Brooks, 51, of Toronto.
He is described as 5’10", medium build. He was wearing a dark-blue heavy winter coat, dark-coloured jeans, black toque.
Photographs of him have been released.
He is considered armed and dangerous. If located, do not approach. Call 9-1-1 immediately.
