Man, 33, faces 21 charges in Discharge Firearm investigation,
Wilson Avenue and Hwy 400 area,
Loaded semi-automatic handgun recovered

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a Discharge Firearm investigation

It is alleged that:

- on Friday, February 2, 2018, at approximately 4 a.m., a man and a group of males attended a bar in the Wilson Avenue and Hwy 400 area

- at some point during the night, he and the group became involved in a verbal altercation with other people

- the altercation escalated and a physical confrontation ensued inside the bar

- the confrontation continued outside and the man produced a semi-automatic handgun

- a single shot was fired during this altercation

- the man fled the area

The victims in this matter did not sustain any injuries.

Officers arrived on scene and located an ammunition casing as well as security cameras.

It is further alleged that:

- through investigation, the man was identified.

- a Criminal Code search warrant was obtained.

On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at approximately 6:40 p.m., the warrant was executed by members of the Emergency Task Force.

It is further alleged that:

- during this execution, a loaded 9mm handgun was thrown from the premises

. this was observed and seized by officers

Dale Bowen, 33, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with: .

1) Discharge Firearm With Intent To Wound, Endanger Life Or Prevent Arrest
2) two counts of Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
3) two counts of Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
4) Use Firearm/Commit Indictable Offence
5) two counts of Possess Loaded, Regulated Firearm
6) Carry Concealed Weapon
7) two counts of Use/Handle/Store Firearm, Etc. Carelessly
8) 10 counts of Possess Firearm While Prohibited

He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, 1 p.m., room 204.
