Toronto Police Service 41 Division Youth Bureau would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an ongoing child Sexual Assault investigation in the Midland Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area.
It is alleged that:
- on Monday, February 26, 2018, at approximately 8:45 a.m., a 12-year-old girl was on her way to school when a man approached her
- the man grabbed the girl by her shoulders
- the man subsequently lowered his hands and touched the girl on her buttocks
- several students witnessed the incident and reported the matter to the school administration
On Tuesday, February 27, 2018, Ranjit Singh, 29, of Brampton, was arrested. He has been charged with:
1) Sexual Assault
2) Sexual Interference
He was scheduled to appear in court at 1911 Eglinton Avenue West, on Tuesday, February 27, 2017, courtroom 412.
