Man, 41, and woman, 27, charged in 10 financial robberies

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of a man and woman arrested for a series of ten financial robberies in Toronto between Saturday, January 13, 2018 and Saturday, March 31, 2018.

It is alleged that:

- in eight robberies a man entered the bank alone
- he elaborately disguised his identity, and on several occasions dressed as a construction worker
- he displayed to the customer service representative a hand-written hold-up note demanding a large quantity of money
- on several occasions, he displayed a handgun, which he kept inside a bag
- after receiving a quantity of money he fled towards a subway station

It is further alleged that:

- on Friday, February 9, 2018, the same man, along with a woman wearing a long scarf over her head entered a bank
- both approached separate tellers
- the woman presented a hold-up note and the man displayed his phone which also displayed a hold-up note demanding money
- both received a quantity of money and fled

It is further alleged that:
- the same woman attended two banks alone and was observed in possession of a handgun


On Saturday, March 31, 2018, The Hold Up Squad arrested Brandon McKenna, 41, of Toronto. He was charged with:

1) five counts of Robbery with a Firearm
2) eight counts of Disguise with Intent
3) three counts of Robbery
4) Fail To Comply Recognizance
5) Breach of Firearm Prohibition
6) three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance
7) Possession of a Schedule III substance

He is scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, room 505.

On Sunday, March 25, 2018, Sylvia Rodrigues Falcon, 27, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) three counts of Robbery
2) three counts of Disguise with Intent
3) two counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance
4) Theft Under
5) Escape Custody
6) Use Imitation Firearm
7) Carry Concealed Weapon

She appeared in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, March 29, 2018, room 101.
