On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 9:30 a.m., the Toronto Police Service, in partnership with the students and faculty at Blessed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School, will celebrate International Day of Pink by highlighting student-based anti-bullying initiatives.
Toronto Catholic District School Board Director of Education Rory McGuckin, Blessed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School Principal Kristine Carey, and students, will join Deputy Chief Peter Yuen and members of the Toronto Police Service.
Members of the media are invited to attend the event. Please follow #StopBullyingNow for details.
The International Day of Pink started when a Nova Scotia teen was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. His fellow students rallied by all wearing pink and showed their solidarity against LGBTQ-based discrimination.
