Man, 23, facing 15 charges in Discharge Firearm investigation,
Black Creek Drive and Lawrence Avenue West area,
Loaded semi-automatic handgun recovered,
Additional man and two Young Persons now face
total of 25 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of arrests in a Discharge Firearm investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at approximately 7 a.m., a man attended a home in the Black Creek Drive and Lawrence Avenue West area

- the man was armed with a sawed-off shotgun

- the man made his way to the rear of the unit and fired one shot into the living room window

- the occupants were sleeping at the time and were not injured

- the man fled the scene

Members of the Area Field Command Investigative Support Unit (AFCISU) started an investigation and allegedly identified the man.

It is further alleged that:

- on Sunday, April 15, 2018, officers located the man in the Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue East area

- he was the passenger in a vehicle occupied by another man and two boys

- officers attempted to arrest the occupants and a struggle ensued

- the two men and two boys were arrested

- a search of the vehicle yielded a loaded semi-automatic handgun, ammunition, a quantity of marijuana and a large sum of money.

Carlito Torres-Aray, 23, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) three counts of Use/Handle/Store Firearm Carelessly
2) two counts of Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
3) two counts of Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
4) two counts of Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm
5) Discharge Firearm Being Reckless as to the Life or Safety of Another Person
6) Use Firearm/Commit Indictable Offence
7) Possess Firearm While Prohibited
8) Breach of Probation
9) Possess Loaded Firearm
10) Possession for the Purpose CDSA


Dujon Taylor, 28, of Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Use/Handle/Store Firearm Carelessly
2) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
3) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
4) Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm
5) Use/Handle/Store Ammunition Carelessly
6) Possess Loaded Firearm
7) Possession for the Purpose CDSA
8) Possession of Proceeds of Crime
9) Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
10) Assault/Intend to Resist or Prevent Arrest
11) Take Weapon of Peace Officer in Execution of Duty


A 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy have both been charged with:

1) two counts of Use/Handle/Store Firearm Carelessly
2) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
3) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
4) Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm
5) Possess Loaded Firearm
6) Possession for the Purpose CDSA

They were all scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Monday, April 16, 2018, 10 am
