The Toronto Police Service is requesting assistance with an ongoing Sexual Assault investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at approximately 2 a.m., a 19-year-old woman got into a white mini-van driven by a man posing as a Uber driver in the Bloor Street West and Madison Avenue area

- she was driven to a secluded area near Mount Pleasant Road and Bloor Street East and sexually assaulted by the man

- she was able to fight the man off and make her escape

The man is described as in his 30s, 5’10”, medium build, light-brown skin, short brown unkempt hair.

Police are reminding the public to be vigilant when ordering online taxi services. Please confirm the driver's identity, plate number and type of vehicle from the information through the application before entering the vehicle.
