Man, 23, arrested and charged with Attempt Murder,
Empress Walk area,
Police seeking witnesses

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an investigation into an Attempt Murder.

It is alleged that:

- on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 7 p.m., a 22-year-old man was stabbed repeatedly in a shopping complex in the Empress Walk area.

- the victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries

On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, Birhan Imam, 23, of Toronto, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Attempt murder
2) Aggravated assault
3) Carry Concealed Weapon

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, May 24, 2018, 10 a.m., room 301.

Investigators are seeking information from witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, including those who witnessed the fight prior to this incident in the Princess Park and Doris Avenue area around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.
