Man, 24, arrested in home invasion robbery investigation,

Faces five charges

Toronto Police Service Hold Up would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a home invasion robbery investigation in the Lake Shore Boulevard West and Royal York Road area.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 1 a.m., a man broke into an apartment unit

- a 38-year-old man was sleeping and awoke to find a man standing over him, pointing a handgun at his chest

- the man made a demand for money, and threatened to take the 38-year-old man to the bank and make him withdraw more money

- the 38-year-old man handed over all the cash he had in his apartment

- the man began to assault the 38-year-old man with a wooden stool and demanded more money, then fled

On Wednesday, May 30, 2018, Tahshawn Nembhard, 24, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with :

1) Robbery with a Firearm
2) Assault with a Weapon
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under
4) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine
5) Possession Cocaine

He was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, May 31, 2018, room 101.
