On Saturday, June 9, 2018, between noon and 5 p.m., at Burrows Hall Community Centre, 1081 Progress Avenue, 42 Division will be hosting its 21st Annual Police Community Picnic.
This event is fun for the whole family and is a wonderful opportunity for the community and the police to build a relationship within a friendly environment. Community events such as this help to break down barriers and misconceptions that youth may have about officers and promote a positive image of the police.
The picnic is hosted by the 42 Division Community Police Liaison Committee. They organize community walks, crime-prevention seminars, and financially support local community organizations.
The media is invited to attend.
Activities include: children’s games, inflatables, face-painting, crafts, fire, ambulance and community displays. There is also entertainment that includes music and various dance performances. All activities are free and there is a barbeque that offers a variety of food at a very low cost.
