MADD Toronto Impaired Driving Prevention
Broadcast time: 04:59
Thursday, June 28, 2018
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Toronto will host an event on Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Yonge-Dundas Square, in partnership with the Toronto Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police, Toronto Paramedic Services, Toronto Transit Commission, Uber, Metrolinx, Dignity Memorial, and Accident Awareness.
The event is designed to encourage everyone to choose alternative means of transportation this summer, to and from events, after consuming substances that cause impairment.
Every year, hundreds of people are killed and tens of thousands are injured in crashes involving alcohol and/or drugs. These deaths and injuries are 100% preventable.
Vehicles from the above organizations will be lined up at Yonge-Dundas Square and accessible to the public. Volunteers will be on hand to give Torontonians access to the vehicles while raising awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.
President Everilda Ratnakumar, on the Board of Directors MADD Toronto Chapter, and participating organizations, will be available to speak to media from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For further inquiries, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
