The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of two arrests in an Attempt Murder investigation.

On Saturday, September 1, 2018, at approximately 3:40 a.m., two men boarded a TTC streetcar in the Spadina Avenue and King Street West area.

On Tuesday, September 4, 2018, two men surrendered to police.

Gumercindo Diaz, 22, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Attempt Murder
2) Assault

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, 10 a.m., room 101.


Emanuel Ortez-Escobar, 23, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1) Attempt Murder
2) Assault with a weapon
3) Weapons Dangerous

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, 10 a.m., room 101.
