Fatal collision #44/2018,
Twenty Sixth Street, near Laburnham Avenue

On Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 2:05 p.m., police responded to a call for a personal injury collision at Twenty Sixth Street, near Laburnham Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a man, 50, was the operator of a waste collection truck

- the man exited the vehicle and was operating the automated side loader portion of the vehicle to collect a trash receptacle

- for reasons not yet determined, the man was pinned between the automated side loader and a parked motor vehicle

The man received life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
