On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., in the media gallery at headquarters, Homicide Detective Leslie Dunkley will update the media on the investigation into Homicide #49/2016.
Up to $50,000 is being offered as a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer or killers responsible for the death of Kiesingar Gunn, 26, of Toronto.
On Sunday, September 11, 2016, at 4:04 a.m., the Toronto Police Service responded to a report of a shooting in the Liberty Street and Mowat Avenue area.
It is reported that:
- the victim, who has been identified as Kiesingar Gunn, 26, of Toronto, was in the Liberty Street and Mowat Avenue area
- shots were fired and he was struck by a bullet, taken to hospital in serious condition, and succumbed to his injuries just before midnight on Sunday, September 11, 2016
- police do not believe he was the intended target of the shooting
Police are asking anyone who may have been at the scene, or who may have cell phone video or photos, to contact police. Further, anyone who has a business or residence in that area with security video that may have captured video of the event is also asked to contact TPS Homicide.
Family members will also be present and available for interviews after the news conference.
