Two men arrested in Discharge Firearm Investigation,
Jane Street and Steeles Avenue area,
Search warrants executed,
Three firearms seized

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of two arrests in a Discharge Firearm investigation.

On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 5:40 a.m., two men drove to the Jane Street and Steeles Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

- the men entered a parking lot in a residential town house complex and discharged a firearm multiple times into a parked vehicle

- the men left the area in a vehicle

The Toronto Police Service started an investigation with the assistance of the Waterloo Regional Police Service. Officers from the West Command Gun Violence Suppression Unit applied for, and were granted, multiple Criminal Code search warrants for addresses and the vehicle associated to the two men.

It is further alleged that:

- on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, officers located both men at separate Kitchener residential addresses

- they were both arrested without incident

It is further alleged that, during the search of the residences, police located and seized:

- a 9mm Walther P38 handgun
- a .22 calibre Black and Owen revolver
- a semi-automatic assault rifle
- quantities of various calibres of ammunition

Tyler Hewitt-Debrusk, 22, of Kitchener, has been arrested and charged with:

1) Discharge Firearm into a Place/Reckless to Others
2) Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
3) Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm
4) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
5) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate


Zachariah Deveau, 22, of Kitchener, has been arrested and charged with:

1 Discharge Firearm into a Place/Reckless to Others
2) Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
3) Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm
4) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
5) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
6) two counts of Careless Storage of a Firearm
7) Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
8) Careless Storage of Ammunition
9) Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
10) two counts of Possess Firearm While Prohibited
11) Careless Storage of a Firearm
12) Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
13) two counts of Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
14) Possess Firearm while Prohibited

Both men are scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Thursday, September 20, 2018.
