Arrest made in Controlled Drugs and
Substances Act/Fireams investigation,
Major Mackenzie Drive West and Weston Road, Vaughan,
Man and woman face 10 charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of nine arrests in a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act/Firearms investigation.

Officers from the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force started an investigation into an alleged armed drug-trafficking operation in the Toronto and Woodbridge areas.

It is alleged that:

- a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act warrant was sought and granted for an address in the Major Mackenzie Dr. W. and Weston Rd.. area in Vaughan

- on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, prior to the execution of the warrant, a man and a woman were located in a vehicle, and arrested without incident

Subsequent to the arrest, the vehicle was searched, officers located and seized:

- a quantity of drugs and cash

During a search of the residence, officers located and seized:

- an additional quantity of drugs

Shivansh SHARMA, 28, of Vaughan, has been charged with:

1) Three counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 substance
2) Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
3) Possession of Proceeds of Crime under 5,000

He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Old City Hall, 10 a.m., Courtroom 103

Denise Diaz Paez, 25, of Richmond Hill, has been charged with:

1) Three counts of Possession of a Schedule 1 substance
2) Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
3) Possession of Proceeds of Crime under 5,000
4) Possession of Property obtained by Crime

He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Old City Hall, 10 a.m., Courtroom 103
