On Monday, October 8, 2018, at 1:18 a.m., police responded to a call for a Fail to Remain Personal Injury Collision that occurred in the Sheppard Avenue East and Bonnington Place area.

It is reported that:

- a 34-year-old man was on a motorized skateboard eastbound on Sheppard Avenue East

- a driver was travelling eastbound on Sheppard Avenue East and struck the man

- the driver stopped, exited the vehicle momentarily, then drove away

- the man was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition and later pronounced deceased

The driver is described as a woman, in her 40’s, Asian, with black shoulder-length hair.

The vehicle is described as an older model silver or grey Toyota Yaris and there was a child in the rear of the vehicle.

Traffic Services is seeking assistance from the public in locating the vehicle and identifying the driver. Local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident are asked to contact investigators.
