On Monday, October 8, 2018, at 8:15 p.m., police responded to a call for a Personal Injury Collision at Queen Street East near Hamilton Street.
It is reported that:
- a 61-year-old man was riding a bicycle eastbound on Queen Street East near Hamilton Street
- the cyclist lost control of his bicycle, falling to the ground, and was struck by the passing streetcar
The cyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene
The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.
Police are asking local residents, business, and drivers, who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
