Man arrested in Stunt Driving incident,
The Donway East and Lawrence Avenue East,

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest made in a Stunt Driving incident.

On Saturday, October 27, 2018, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a call for Stunt Driving in the intersection of The Donway East and Lawrence Avenue East.

It is alleged that:

- up to 12 high-performance cars blocked the intersection

- numerous people lined the streets

- officers parked their car, in the intersection, to disperse the crowd

- a man driving a Chevy Corvette approached at a high rate of speed

- he sped through the intersection, against a red light, narrowly missing the parked police car

- the Corvette driver struck another vehicle while trying to get away

- he was arrested a short distance away

Nicholas Paraan, 18, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
2. Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident
3. Criminal Flight

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 10 a.m., in room 101.
