The Toronto Police would like to update the public on an investigation into an Aggravated Assault investigation.
On Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at 12:30 a.m., the Toronto Police Service received a call for an assault in the Queen Street West and Bathurst Street area.
It is alleged that:
- a 36-year-old man was walking along Queen Street West and got involved in an altercation with two men
- the 36-year-old man was punched by a one man and fell to the ground unconscious, where he was then punched again by a second man
- the two men fled the area southbound on Bathurst Street in a newer model blue Dodge Charger vehicle

On Friday, February 1, 2019, Keron Alvarez, 35, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Aggravated Assault.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at Old City Hall, room 101.
The second suspect this investigation is still outstanding. He is described as 25-35 years-of-age, 6'0", with a slim build, corn rows and a beard. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black running shoes.
