The Toronto Police Service requests the public's assistance identifying a man wanted in a series of ATM robberies.
On Friday, February 1, 2019, at 7:21 p.m., officers responded to a call for a robbery in the Victoria Park Avenue and Van Horne Avenue area.
It is reported that:
- a girl was depositing money to an ATM
- she was approached from behind by a man
- he held a knife to her neck and made a demand for money
- the man removed the money from the machine and fled
He is described as 6'0", with a medium build, and a light complexion. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, a black hooded sweater with the hood up, a balaclava, black pants and black running shoes.
He is believed to be violent, armed and dangerous. If located, do not approach, call 9-1-1 immediately.
Investigators believe he is responsible for four other similar robberies at ATMs all in the area bounded by Victoria Park Avenue, Markham Road, Ellesmere Road and Sheppard Avenue East.
