On Sunday, August 20, 2017, a 25-year-old woman was in the area of Cherry Street and Polson Street.

It is alleged that:

- she was approached by a man who identified himself as an Uber driver and offered her a ride

- during the drive, he pulled off to a secluded area

- he sexually assaulted her

- he took her debit card to pay for the drive

After the woman was dropped off at her destination, police were contacted and an investigation started.

On August 21, 2017, Muhammad Fahad, then 33, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Sexual Assault
2. Theft Under

He was released on recognizance.

On February 17, 2019, police issued a warrant for his arrest for Fail to Comply.
