Three Boys arrested for 10 Robberies

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up unit would like to make the public aware of arrests made in relation to 10 robberies in the Toronto area.

It is alleged that:

- between Tuesday, February 19, 2019 and Sunday, April 7, 2019, five convenience stores, four gas stations and one street robbery were committed in the 55 division area

- between one and three boys entered the premises disguising their identity with scarfs and hoodies pulled tight around their faces

- the boys confronted the store employees pointing knives at them and demanded money

- several times the boys went behind the counter removing cigarettes, cigars, and cash

- during the street robbery on Friday, March 29, 2019 a 20-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the area of Broadview Avenue and Danforth Avenue when he was robbed of cash at knife point by two boys

On Sunday, April 7, 2019 officers from 55 division responded to the last robbery call in the area of Broadview Avenue and Mortimer Avenue and were able to apprehend two boys.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested. He is charged with:

1. ten counts of Robbery with a weapon
2. ten counts of Possession of a Weapon
3. ten counts of Disguise with Intent
4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

He is scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street, on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at 9 a.m.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested. He is charged with:

1. nine counts of Robbery with a weapon
2. nine counts of Possession of a weapon
3. nine counts of Disguise with Intent
4. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
5. Possession for the Purpose of Crack Cocaine
6. Possession for the Purpose Crystal Meth
7. Possession Proceeds of Crime

He is scheduled to appear in court at 311 Jarvis Street, on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at 9 a.m.

Hold Up officers continued the investigation and on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, a third boy was apprehended.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested. He is charged with:

1. two counts of Robbery with offensive weapon
2. two counts of Possession of weapon
3. two counts of Disguise with Intent

His next court appearance is at 311 Jarvis Street, on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 9 a.m.
