Update,
Three men arrested, One Person of Interest Sought

On Monday, June 17, 2019, at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers were on patrol and monitoring a large crowd gathered for the Toronto Raptors' rally at Nathan Phillips Square.

It is alleged that a shooting took place nearby at Bay Street and Queen Street West.

Three men were arrested after the shooting for firearms offences.

Police recovered two handguns.

Shaquille Anthony Miller, 25, of Toronto. He is charged with:

1. Carry Conceal Weapon
2. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
4. Careless Storage of Firearms, Weapon, Prohibited Device
5. Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
6. Assault Peace Officer While Carrying a Weapon
7. two counts of Fail to Comply Probation Order

He appeared at Old City Hall court on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at 10 a.m.

Police allege Miller was in possession of a handgun at the time of his arrest.


Abdikarim Kerow, 18, of Toronto. He is charged with:

1. two counts of Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
2. two counts of Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm etc
3. two counts of Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
4. two counts of Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not Holding a licence and registration certificate
5. two counts of Possess Prohibited/Restricted Weapon or Prohibited Device Knowing No Authority
6. two counts of use/handle/store firearm, etc. carelessly
7. two counts of possess weapon, etc./dangerous to public peace
8. possess proceeds of property or thing obtained by crime/not exceeding $5,000
9. possess schedule i substance for trafficking (cocaine)
10. possess schedule i substance for trafficking (oxycodone)

He appeared at Old City Hall court on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at 10 a.m.

Charges relate to a prior warrant for Kerow's arrest.


Thaino Toussaint, 20, of Toronto. He is charged with:

1. Carry Concealed Weapon
2. Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
3. Possession of a Firearm Knowing Its Possession is Unauthorized
4. Careless Storage of a Firearm
5. Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammo
6. two counts of Possess Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
7. Possess Proceeds of Crime

He appeared at Old City Hall court on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at 10 a.m.

Police allege that Touissaint was in possesion of a handgun at the time of his arrest.


Investigators want to identify a person of interest who left the scene of the shooting.

Male, white, 5'9" to 6', with light short brown hair and a heavy build. He was wearing a white button-down shirt.
