On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 4:09 p.m., police responded to a call for a Personal Injury Collision that occurred at Northland Avenue and Weston Road.
It is reported that:
- a 53-year-old man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado on eastbound Northland Avenue and was stopped for a red traffic signal light at Weston Road. The light turned green and the driver of the Chevrolet began to make a left hand turn onto northbound Weston Road
- at the same time, an 11-year-old boy was riding a bicycle in the north pedestrian crosswalk of Northland Avenue, from the east side to the west side of Weston Road
- the driver of the Chevrolet struck the boy on his bicycle
- the boy sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital
Police are asking local residents, business, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
