Fatal collision #25/2019,
Victoria Street at Queen Street East

On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at approximately 9 a.m., police received a report of a collision at Victoria Street at Queen Street East.

It is reported that:

- a 43-year-old male driver, operating a 2014 Kenworth commercial truck was
travelling south on Victoria Street stopped for a red traffic signal at Queen Street

- a 56-year-old woman started to cross Victoria Street along the north side of
Queen Street East in the crosswalk

- the driver drove south when the light turned green and struck the woman

- she was taken to hospital succumbed to injuries

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.

Police are asking local residents, business, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
