Traffic Services

Between June 17-23, 2019, the Toronto Police Service delivered a week long enforcement and community engagement campaign that asked drivers to be alert and anticipate to share the road with our vulnerable road users.

Toronto Police Service officers patrolled for drivers who were speeding, driving while distracted, driving while impaired and driving aggressively. With the help of our many media partners and social media, we also started conversations about cycling infrastructure, the dangers cyclists face from being “doored”, vehicles parking in bike lanes and how to register a bicycle with the Toronto Police Service.

Campaign Results:

Total Tickets Issued:

- 1,617 during the campaign
- over 800 of these were for aggressive driving behaviour

Community Engagement:

On social media, we saw many comments and engagement with research.
