Man arrested in Choking/ Assault investigation,

The Toronto Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance locating a wanted man.

On Saturday, June 15, 2019, members of the Toronto Police Service commenced an investigation into a violent assault where a man attempted to choke a 31-year-old woman in the Keele Street and Lawrence Avenue West area.

On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, Akeem Martin, 30, of Toronto, surrendered to police was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Choking – overcome resistance
2) Assault
3) Threatening death
4) Mischief under $5,000
5) Breach of a Recognizance
6) Driving while under suspension

He was scheduled to appear at Toronto West Courts, on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 10 a.m.
