Man and woman arrested in Firearm investigation,
Dundas Street East and George Street area

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of an arrest made in a Firearm investigation.

On Sunday, August 11, 2019, at approximately 2:25 a.m., officers responded to a call for a person with a gun in the Dundas Street East and George Street area.

It is alleged that:

- two men in the area became involved in an altercation

- they began to fight

- one man produced a gun and pointed it at several people

- officers attended the area and arrested two people

Daniel Papadopoylos, 23, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Assault
2. Point Firearm
3. Carry Concealed Weapon
4. Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence
5. Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence
6. Careless Storage of a Firearm
7. Possession Weapon For Committing an Offence
8. Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number
9. Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
10. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance
11. Possession of Proceeds of Crime
12. two counts of Possession Firearm Contrary to Order
13. Fail to Comply Probation
14: Breach Peace Bond

Esther Linaras, 37, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding a Licence
2. Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding a Licence
3. Careless Storage Firearm
4. Possession Weapon For Committing an Offence
5. Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number

They both appeared in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, August 11, 2019, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

The Toronto Police would like to thank the public for immediately calling 911 which assisted in locating both accused parties. This resulted in a firearm being taken off the streets of Toronto, and preventing potential serious injuries or death.
