Man and woman charged in Firearm Possession investigation,
Royal York Road and The Queensway

The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of arrests made in a Firearm Possession investigation.

On Friday, August 23, 2019, at approximately 11:07 p.m., officers began an investigation into the illegal possession of a firearm in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

- a man and woman were picked up by a ride share in the area

- they loaded several bags into the car

- when they left the car they forgot one of the bags inside

- the bag contained a loaded handgun, additional ammunition and a quantity of cash

Kingsley Dowrin, 19, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Transport Firearm Carelessly
2. Possess a Restricted Firearm without a License
3. Possess Restricted Firearm Knowingly not Holding a License
4. Occupy Motor Vehicle with a Firearm
5. Possess a Loaded Restricted Firearm
6. Possess Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number
7. Possess Firearm While Prohibited
8. two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
9. Fail to Comply with Recognizance

Vanessa Cosentino, 19, of Toronto, is charged with:

1. Transport Firearm Carelessly
2. Possess a Restricted Firearm without a License
3. Possess Restricted Firearm Knowingly not Holding a License
4. Occupy Motor Vehicle with a Firearm
5. Possess a Loaded Restricted Firearm
6. Possess Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number

They appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 10 a.m., in room 101.

Investigators wish to remind the public that should any discarded bags be located, they should always be handled with care as hazardous materials can be located within them. If there are concerns, police can be contacted to assist with securing the property.
