Public Safety - Major Events

The 44th annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will be taking place at various locations throughout the downtown core from Thursday, September 5, 2019 to Sunday September 15, 2019.

The festival will include the following theatres: Bell TIFF Lightbox, Roy Thomson Hall, Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres, Princess of Wales, Ryerson, the AGO, Cinesphere, and Scotiabank.

There will also be a complete road closure associated with this event for a "Festival Street." The Street Festival will operate from Thursday, September 5, 2019 through Sunday, September 8, 2019, from 10 a.m. until midnight each day.

Road closures will start:

- from Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 10 a.m., to Monday, September 9, 2019, at 6 a.m., on King Street West, from Peter Street to University Avenue

There will be considerable disruption to traffic in the area as a result of this road closure and the many events taking place throughout the downtown core. Motorists are advised to consider avoiding the area and to consider the road closure when planning their travels.
