Fourteen-Year-Old Boy Arrested for Violent Robberies

The Toronto Police Service's Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest following multiple retail robberies in the west end of the city.


On Monday, October 7, 2019, at 8:10 p.m., a boy attended a gas station located at The Queensway and Windermere Avenue .

It is alleged that:

- the boy approached the counter and brandished a large knife

- he demanded money from the register along with cigarettes

- the boy obtained cash and cigarettes and fled


It is further alleged:

On Monday, October 7, 2019, at 8:43 p.m., a boy attended a mini-mart located in the Lakeshore Boulevard West and Brookes Lane area

- the boy approached the victim behind the counter

- the boy then threatened the victim with a large knife

- the boy demanded cash from both registers

- the victim backed away and contacted police

- the boy then fled


It is further alleged:

On Monday, October 7, 2019. at approximately 9:30 p.m., a boy entered a gas station located in the Lakeshore Boulevard West and Marine Parade Drive

- the boy selected some merchandise and approached the counter

- upon the staff member opening the register, the boy brandished a large knife and made demands for all the cash in the register

- the boy was scared off and fled empty handed when a customer walked into the premise


It is further alleged:

On Monday, October 7, 2019, at 11:36 p.m., the boy entered a convenience store located at Lakeshore Boulevard West and Net Drive area.

- the boy approached the victim while waving a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes

- the boy obtained cash and cigarettes before fleeing


The Hold Up Squad and 22 Division's Major Crime Unit on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, arrested a 14 year-old boy, of no fixed address. He has been charged with:

1. four counts of Robbery with an offensive weapon
2. four counts of Carry concealed weapon
3. four counts of Weapons Dangerous
5. Possession of property by crime (under)

He is to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at 10 a.m., room 204

All the property was recovered and a knife.
