The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of another arrest made in a shooting investigation.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police were called for a shooting in the Black Creek Drive/Trethewey Drive area.

It is reported that:

On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, the Barrie Police Service arrested a man on an unrelated matter. At the time of his arrest, it is alleged that he was in possession of two loaded semi-automatic handguns. Following his arrest, the warrant for the alleged involvement in this shooting investigation came to light.

On Friday, November 8, 2019, the Toronto Police Service returned the man to Toronto on the strength of the warrant.

Malik Mohamed, 21, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) Five counts of Attempt Murder
2) Discharge Firearm Being Reckless as to the Life or Safety of Another Person
3) Careless Storage of a Firearm
4) Possess Loaded Firearm
5) Two counts of Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without Holding a Licence and Registration Certificate
6) Carry Concealed Weapon
7) Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace
8) Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm

He was scheduled to appear on Friday, November 8, 2019, at 2201 Finch Avenue West, in courtroom 204, at 10 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
